WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – The Pac-12 conference announced its All-Academic honors for cross country this week, with nine Huskies making the cut for their combined work in the classroom and on the course. Senior Justine Johnson was named to the Second Team for the first time in cross country, to go with a Second Team honor last season in track.
Johnson, an English major with a 3.71 cumulative GPA, is one of three Huskies honored to travel to Terre Haute, Ind. this week for Saturday’s NCAA Cross Country Championships, along with sophomores Maddie Meyers and Baylee Mires who were both named honorable mention.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Also earning honorable mention on the women’s team are sophomore Eleanor Fulton, sophomore Erin Johnson, and junior Megan Morgan.
Three men’s runners earned honorable mention: sophomore Angelo Comeaux, and redshirt freshmen Blake Nelson and Nick Harris.
