SEATTLE -- The Washington women's soccer season is underway. While the team is led by a deep and talented senior class, the Dawgs have also added a group of talented freshmen. GoHuskies.com got a chance to speak to each of the new Huskies. Today, Paige Serwold.
Why did you come to Washington?
Serwold: "I grew up in a Husky home and mom is a UW alum. I always told my parents that I would play soccer for UW someday as a child."
What do you hope to contribute this season and in your career as a Husky?
Serwold: "I hope to contribute a high level of play, commitment and work ethic. I hope to compete at a high level to make me a better player, but help my team get better as well."
What is the greatest moment of your playing career so far?
Serwold: "Getting recruited to be a Husky! Woof!"
What is your first memory of playing soccer?
Serwold: "The first thing I remember is the shin guards being bigger than my legs."
What do you do for fun?
Serwold: "I like to hang out with friends and family and I like to laugh."
Who is the most inspirational person in your life and why?
Serwold: "My mom. She has worked so hard for everything that she has and is one of the most successful people. On top of all that, she is always there for me when I need her and will put everything down for anybody."
What is your favorite meal: Tacos.
What is your favorite movie: Bridesmaids, Mean Girls and Pitch Perfect.
What is favorite type of music: Anything and everything.
If you didn't play soccer, what sport would you play: Volleyball or basketball.
What is the best book you have ever read: A Walk To Remember.
