Three Washington football players were named to Athlon Sports' preseason All-America teams, announced today.
Seferian-Jenkins, who will be a junior for the Huskies this fall, was one of three finalists for the John Mackey Award last season when he caught 69 passes for 850 yards, both single-season school records for a tight end. He also holds the Husky career records for receptions, yards and TDs by a tight end.
Thompson, a sophomore-to-be from Sacramento, started all 13 games for the Huskies as a true freshman last year. He won the UW's Travis Spring Award as its most outstanding freshman and finished the year with 74 tackles, including eight and a half for loss.
A Spokane, Wash., native, Sankey rushed for 1,439 yards as a sophomore in 2012, the third-highest total in Washington history. He also rushed for 16 touchdowns, second most ever at the UW. Sankey capped his season by earning MVP honors in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas, where he rushed for 205 yards on 30 carries while also catching six passes for 74 yards.
