WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The countdown to the re-opening of Husky Stadium now has a more precise end: 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Aug. 31. That's when the Huskies will kick off the 2013 football season against Boise State in a game that will air live on the new Fox Sports 1 television network.
Kickoff times and television information for three of Washington's 2013 football games were announced today by the Pac-12 Conference.
Aside from the Boise State opener, times and TV were revealed for the Huskies' two Friday games in 2013: Nov. 15 at UCLA and Nov. 29 vs. Washington State.
The game at UCLA will kick off at 6:00 p.m. PT and air live on ESPN2 television while the Apple Cup will get underway at 12:30 p.m. PT and be broadcast on FOX television (the over-the-air network).
Earlier this month, the Big Ten Conference announced that Washington's game vs. Illinois at Soldier Field in Chicago will kick off at 5:00 p.m. CT/3:00 p.m. PT and will air on the Big Ten Network.
The Boise State game on Aug. 31 will mark the UW's return to Husky Stadium, which is in the final stages of a massive renovation project that began in November, 2011. Last year, the Huskies played their home games at CenturyLink Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.
Fox Sports 1 is the new Fox sports channel that will debut this August 17. As noted in the link, it will replace the SPEED channel on most cable and satellite lineups.
Every UW football game this season will air on live television on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2, FOX/Fox Sports 1 or the Pac-12 Networks (or in the case of the road game vs. Illinois, the Big Ten Network). The start times and TV information for all remaining games will be announced 12 or six days before each game.
