CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Ying Luo and Charlotte Thomas were recognized by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for their excellence in the classroom during their first year at Washington.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50. A total of 644 women's golfers from Division I, II and III were recognized with this prestigious honor.

Luo, out of Shenzhan, China, maintained a 3.97 grade point average during her first year of college. Not only did she excel in the classroom, but she represented the Huskies as an individual competitor at the 2013 NCAA Championship.

Thomas, from Surrey, England, sports a 3.5 gpa. She set a new UW freshman record with a 72.91 scoring average and was a second team All-Pac-12 golfer.
