GLEN COVE, N.Y. -- The Washington women's golf team is well represented this week at the U.S. Women's Amateur at the Nassau Country Club. On Monday, Eimi Koga led the five Huskies participating with a round of 1-over 71.

Koga is tied for 12th at 1-over, five shots back of Su-Hyun Oh of Australia who leads after 18 holes. She is in good shape after one round to advance to the match play portion of the tournnament. The top 64 players will advance to that stage. Koga made two birdies and three bogeys during her solid first round.

Also playing well was Jing Yan, the incoming freshman next year for the Dawgs. Yan is tied for 38th at 3-over 73. She made one birdie and four bogeys on a tough day when most of the field was over par.

In a tie for 86th is Cyd Okino after a round of 6-over 76. She'll look to make up some ground on Tuesday to get into the top-64 and match play.

Finally, both Jennifer Yang and Charlotte Thomas did not have their best days, firing rounds of 11-over 81.

All five Huskies will be back on the course at the Nassau Country Club on Tuesday as they look to qualify for match play of U.S. Women's Amateur.
