This year, Pan finished tied for seventh at 8-under 276. He played all four rounds under par, shooting 70-69-70-67. He will play Beau Hossler in the Round of 16 match play on Friday.

Corey Pereira also competed in the Western Amateur, but did not advance after shooting 73-72-145 (+3) in the first two rounds. Pereira who recently earned a commanding victory at the Pacific Coast Amateur needed to finish in the top-50 of the first two rounds of stroke play to play rounds three and four.
