CORAL SPINGS, Fla. -- The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced the 2013-14 Scholar All-America Team with two Washington representatives. Junior Jennifer Yang and sophomore Ying Luo earned the top academic honor.
The prestigious academic honor is one of the most difficult to achieve in college golf. Student-athletes are reqired to have at least a 3.50 GPA to be considered.
Yang earned the honor for the first time after a career-best season for the Huskies. She was named Second Team All-Pac-12 and Honorable Mention All-America. Yang also excells in the classroom where she has a 3.52 GPA as an Arts and Sciences Pre-major.
Luo is earning the honor for the second time as one of the top students in college golf. She had another productive season with the Huskies, earning Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 honors and advancing the to the NCAA Championships for the second-straight season. Luo carries a remarkable 3.96 GPA, also as an Arts and Sciences Pre-major.
Both Yang and Luo were named to the Dean's List following the winter quarter at UW.
