WALNUT CREEK, Calif.  – Twenty-five Huskies were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, the conference office announced this week. Sophomore sprinter Travis Marshall was the lone Husky named to the First Team, with six more Huskies earning Second Team status and 18 garnering honorable mention.

To earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0, while participating in over half of a team’s scheduled dates. Athletes also must be in their second full year at an institution.

Marshall, the top short sprinter on the squad this season, made the First Team in his first year of eligibility. An economics major, the sophomore currently owns a 3.76 GPA.

Making the Second Team on the men’s side, all for the first time, are sophomore Carson Fuller, senior A.J. Maricich, and junior Nick Pfeiffer. Fuller is a pre-major with a 3.42 GPA, Maricich just wrapped his Husky career with a 3.43 GPA majoring in Geography, and Pfeiffer owns a 3.46 mark in Electrical Engineering.

The women put three on the Second Team, led by junior Eleanor Fulton who is a Second Team pick for the second year in a row. Fulton is joined by the Stueckle sisters, Kayla and Kimberly. Kayla just graduated with a 3.63 GPA in Pyschology, while Kimberly, a sophomore, has a 3.70 grade point average as a pre-major. Fulton carries a 3.74 GPA in Business Administration.

Fourteen of Washington’s 25 honorees qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Championships this year, and five advanced to the NCAA final site in Eugene and earned All-America honors including Kayla Stueckle and Fuller. Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mentions who competed in Eugene include First Team All-American Quinn Hale, Second Team All-American Lindsay Flanagan, and honorable mention All-American Nick Harris.
