SEATTLE - Washington Baseball coach Lindsay Meggs has received a letter of intent from right-handed pitcher Toby Dunlap to join the team for the 2014-15 school year.
Dunlap, who is 6-feet-6 and 260-pounds, will graduate this spring from Orange Luthern High School in southern California. He helped lead the Lancers to the CIF quarterfinals, sporting a 5-0 record during the season. He was a second team All-Region member.
The highlight of the season for Dunlap came on May 21 when he pitched a seven-inning perfect game in a Southern Section Division I wild card game one day after verbally committing to the Huskies. Dunlap only needed 55 pitches to beat Newport Harbor 7-0.
In his next appearance -- and final high school game -- Dunlap beat Wilson Long Beach, 7-2, to propel his team into the semifinals.
Dunlap pitched for head coach Eric Borba at Orange Luthern.
