Egger Earns Second-Team All-Pac-12 Honors

SEATTLE – University of Washington junior Emmett Egger was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team, the conference announced Wednesday. Egger is the 12th Husky to earn a spot on one of the league’s all-conference teams and the first since 2012.

The All-Pac-12 Team is comprised of a six-person first team, a six-person second and six honorable mentions. Voting is done by the Pac-12 head coaches.

Egger held a 4-4 record playing at number one singles for the majority of the spring season and posted an overall record of 10-12 while earning a national ranking as high as 114 late in the season. He boasted wins over No. 3 Raymond Sarmiento (USC) and No. 79 Robin Cambier (Oregon). Egger also posted a combined doubles dual record of 12-9 playing at the number one spot with Jeff Hawke.

In the Pac-12’s year awards, USC’s Yannick Hanfmann was named the Men’s Tennis Singles Player of the Year, USC’s Hanfmann and Ray Sarmiento earned Pac-12 Doubles Team of the Year, UCLA’s Mackenzie McDonald was voted Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year and UCLA’s Billy Martin was named the Coach of the Year.
