BERKELEY, Calif. – The Huskies wrapped up the 2014 regular season in resounding fashion Saturday, claiming a series sweep of the Cal Bears with a 14-0, five-inning victory at Levine-Fricke Field in Berkeley, Calif.

The Huskies conclude the regular season with an overall record of 33-13 and a Pac-12 record of 13-9. The Huskies ended the season with wins in nine of their last 10 games. Seeding for the postseason will be announced on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. PT on the NCAA Selection Show on ESPNU.

Kaitlin Inglesby made the start in the circle for the Huskies on Saturday and shutout the Bears (23-29, 4-18) on just one hit over five innings while striking out six. Inglesby retired 10 of the first 11 batters she faced and earned the win to improve to 13-4.

The Huskies hit three home runs for the second straight day, but none was more notable than Makenzie Pletcher’s solo shot. Pletcher pinch-hit in the top of the 4th and drove one over the right field fence for her first collegiate hit and first collegiate home run.

Hooch Fagaly and Kylee Lahners also hit home runs, and both have now homered in consecutive games. Lahners leads the team with 17 home runs and has hit round-trippers in consecutive games on three different occasions this season.

The Huskies got ahead of the Bears quickly, putting four runs on the board in the top of the 1st inning. The scoring was highlighted by RBIs from Inglesby and Lahners and a two-run double off the bat of Kelli Suguro.

With Inglesby holding the Bears scoreless, the Huskies added three runs each in the 2nd and 3rd innings to take a 10-0 lead at the end of the 3rd.

With one out in the 2nd, Fagaly hit her 7th home run of the season and her fourth in her past 10 games. Then, Suguro and Whitney Jones added consecutive two-out RBI-singles to bring home two runs.

In the 3rd, Victoria Hayward plated a run with a double and was soon driven in on Lahners’ home run.

The scoring continued in the 4th inning, as Pletcher got the Huskies going with her solo home run, and then Inglesby singled home two runs and Lahners doubled in a run to bring the Huskies advantage to 14-0.

Lahners finished the day 3-for-4, with two runs scored, one double, one home run, and four RBI. Suguro drove in three on two base hits, including one double. Ali Aguilar went 2-for-4, with two runs scored.

The Huskies took game one Thursday from the Bears, 4-3, before earning a 9-1 victory in game two Friday.
