CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 11 Washington got four RBI each from Dani Braun and Kylee Lahners, and starting pitcher Bryana Walker put up four solid innings, as the Huskies knocked off Oregon State, 11-1, in five innings Saturday in Corvallis, Ore.

The Huskies (27-12) scored in four of five innings, and got multi-hit games from Whitney Jones, Braun and Lahners. Lahners had four RBI and equaled a career-high with four hits for the second time this season. Lahners also had four hits on Feb. 15 vs. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Braun’s four RBI set a career-high, as she came into the game with seven single-RBI games over her career.

“It was good to see us put some things together,” head coach Heather Tarr said. “We had several two-out rallies. Kylee Lahners and Dani Braun, specifically, did a good job getting the runs in. Each of them had four RBI, which are big-time contributions from that part of the lineup.”

Walker held the Beavers (13-28) to just one run on three hits over four innings and earned the win to move to 15-7 on the season. Kaitin Inglesby shut the Beavers down in the 5th with one scoreless inning of relief.

“Bryana stayed tough,” Tarr said. “She could have completed the game just fine, but we wanted Kaitlin to get some innings. The two of them in combination were the reason we held them to one run.”

Jones got the Huskies scoring started, leading off the top of the 2nd with a triple. Braun followed with an RBI-single to put the Huskies on the board.

After back-to-back walks to Hooch Fagaly and Inglesby to begin the 3rd, Lahners crushed a three-run home run to bring the Huskies lead to 4-0.

After the Beavers pushed across a run in the bottom of the 3rd, the Huskies added three runs in the top of the 4th.  Victoria Hayward led off the inning, reaching base on an error and then stealing 2nd base and 3rd base for her Pac-12-leading 22nd stolen base of the season.

Fagaly drove home Hayward on an RBI-single to give the Huskies a 5-1 lead. One batter later, Lahners doubled and eventually scored on a bases-loaded walk to Braun. Ali Aguilar eventually scored on an Oregon State error, giving the Huskies an 8-1 lead heading to the bottom of the 4th.

The Huskies added three runs in the top of the 5th for the final score of 11-1. Lahners added a run on an-RBI double, her fourth RBI of the day to bring her season total to 48, and Braun brought home two more on a two-run single.

Lahners finished 4-for-4, with three runs scored, two doubles, one home run, and four RBI. Braun went two-for-three on the day, with four RBI and one walk.

“We want to build on it and continue staying hot and playing our game,” Tarr said of the victory.

The Huskies and Beavers will wrap up the series Sunday at noon in a game broadcast live on the Pac-12 Networks.
