UW AT THE PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 55th Pac-12 Championship in men’s golf will be contested this weekend, April 25-27, in Marana, Ariz. Washington will be in search of its seventh conference title at the 72-hole event played at the Gallery Golf Club. The Dawgs last won the Pac-12 title in 2010, a second-consecutive championship. UW also won the Pac-12 title in 1961, 1963, 1988 and 2005. The 2010 team had the best score with the six playing, counting five format with a 72-hole score of 1,383. Last season, Washington placed third with a 72-hole score of 1,432. California has won each of the past two Pac-12 Championships, while  USC has the most all-time victories with 19. Individually, the Dawgs have had three Pac-12 medalists: Darren Wallace (2009), Erik Olson (2005) and O.D. Vincent (1988).

HUSKY LINEUP
Husky Coach Matt Thurmond is going with the six players that have seen the most action this season. It includes three players ranked in the top-100 by Golfstat: No. 46 Cheng-Tsung Pan, No. 49 Trevor Simsby and No. 87 Corey Pereira. Also competing for the Dawgs will be Jonathan Sanders, Gerrit Chambers and Chris Babcock. Pan is a semifinalist for the Hogan Award given to the top player in college golf, while also recently qualifying for the British Open for what will be his third career major championship. Simsby has four top-10’s this year and a team-best 11 rounds in the 60’s. Pereira has had a strong freshman season with four top-10’s and fourth-place finish at the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational. Sanders has been the Dawgs hottest player with four-straight top-10’s, including a win at the Bandon Dunes Championship.

WASHINGTON IN 2013-14
Washington has just one win this season, coming back in September at the Kikkor Husky Invitational. Despite having just a single victory, the Dawgs have been in contention almost every week. The Dawgs have five runner-up finishes and have placed outside of the top four only once. The Dawgs have two individual wins with Pan at the Kikkor Husky Invitational and Sanders at the Bandon Dunes Championship.

THE COURSE
The Gallery Golf Club has two courses with the Pac-12 Championships being contested on the North Course.
