Huskies Hit The Road To Face Stanford and California

SEATTLE – The University of Washington men’s tennis team continues its Pac-12 season on the road as it heads to face No. 43 Stanford (April 11, 1:30 p.m.) and No. 19 California (April 12, 1:30 p.m. The Huskies are 10-10 on the season and are coming off of a weekend split with a 4-2 win over Arizona and a 4-2 loss to Utah. The Dawgs will be on the road for the first time in eight matches dating back to March 1. 

UW is currently 1-3 in league action and have just three matches remaining during conference play before heading to Ojai, Calif., for the Pac-12 Championship (April 23-26). The Huskies earned their first conference win of the season a week ago, taking a 4-2 victory over Arizona in a match that was televised on the Pac-12 Networks. Emmett Egger leads the Dawgs with his No. 114 ranking nationally and has a 3-2 record when playing at number one singles. Michael Chamerski has been holding down the number six singles spot with a 6-2 record including three-straight wins. The Dawgs are 59-47 overall in singles action this season. 

ABOUT THE CARDINAL: The Cardinal are currently 10-4 on the season with a 2-2 mark in league action and are hosting their first Pac-12 matches of the season this weekend in Washington and Oregon. Stanford is currently ranked number 43 nationally but have been ranked as high as 38 earlier this season. The two teams faced off eariler this year at the ITA Kickoff Weekend with Stanford coming out on top, 4-2 (Jan. 25). Stanford is led by John Morrisey who has been playing at number one singles this season. 

ABOUT THE BEARS: California is 12-5 this season and also holds a 2-2 record in conference play. The Bears dropped one spot in the latest ITA rankings to No. 19. They're led by a pair of Bears ranked in the ITA singles poll in Ben McLachlan (5-6) at No. 69 and Campbell Johnson (17-10) at No. 110. Additionally, Gregory Bayane and Chase Melton are currently ranked 19th in the ITA doubles poll and boast an overall record of 16-3. 

The Dawgs return home on April 19 for their final regular season match of the year, hosting Oregon at
