SEATTLE – The University of Washington men’s tennis team continues its Pac-12 season hosting Arizona (April 4, 11:30 a.m./Pac-12 Networks) and No. 58 Utah (April 6, 11:00 a.m.). The Huskies are 9-9 on the season and are most recently coming off of a 7-0 victory against Eastern Washington University on March 29.
UW has a 7-4 record when playing at home this season. The Huskies look to get their first conference win this weekend, against two teams who have also yet to win a conference game. Both Utah and Arizona are 0-2 in Pac-12 play. Emmett Egger recently beat the third-ranked player in the country while Max Manthou is 5-6 on court one. Gal Hakak is 9-9 on the season playing at the number one, two and three spots.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS: The Wildcats are currently unranked and hold an 11-10 record on the season. Arizona will look to get their first Pac-12 win this weekend when it heads to Seattle this Friday. Arizona currently has no players in the top 100 nationally. Kieren Thompson leads the Wildcats in singles action. Last time the Wildcats faced the Dawgs they lost 0-4 in a neutral court down in Ojai, Calif.
ABOUT THE UTES: Utah is currently ranked 58th in the nation and hold a 12-5 record but are 0-2 in conference play.. They will open Pac-12 play at Oregon on Friday, March 28 before coming to Seattle on the 29th. Utah’s Slim Hamza is the only player in the top 125, currently sitting at 110 in the nation. The last time the Utes played the Huskies they fell short in a close match, losing 3-4.
