SEATTLE - A rare chance to watch a regular season track and field meet on TV comes this evening when the Pac-12 Network airs highlights from Friday and Saturday's Trojan Invitational, in which the Huskies had several strong season-opening performances. The first airing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight.
The schedule calls for a full three-hour block of action from USC's Loker Stadium, so there should be plenty to see. If you miss tonight's airing, the event is also scheduled to run on Tuesday, from 2-5 p.m., and again on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Washington had several wins at USC, including marks from Diamara Planell Cruz and Quinn Hale that moved them into the top-five in the NCAA after the weekend wrapped up. Planell Cruz won the pole vault with an even 14-foot clearance, while Hale threw a 13-foot career-best in the javelin of 235-7, with sophomore Carson Fuller also throwing 225-10 for second, and the No. 9 mark nationally.
The Huskies also had wins from Kasen Covington in the triple jump, J.J. Juilfs in the men's pole vault, and Ashley Alexander in the women's javelin.
