WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pac-12 announced Monday that Husky guard Kelsey Plum was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. Plum earned the honor for a fourth time this season after helping the Dawgs to a weekend sweep of Utah and No. 21 Colorado.
Plum finished the off the weekend with a career-best 35 points against the Buffaloes. She was just one point shy of the UW freshman scoring record and set the school record for made free throws with 18. Plum finished 18-19 from the foul line, while adding six rebounds and three assists.
On Friday, Plum scored 14 points as the Dawgs outlasted Utah in an overtime defensive battle. She also added six rebounds and three assists in that game as well. For the week, Plum averaged 24.5 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Plum earned the Freshman of the Week honor for a fourth time this season, tying Chrisae Rowe of Oregon for the most this season. Plum has also won the award for the third time in five weeks.
Plum and the Huskies head out on the road next week as they continue Pac-12 play. The Dawgs face Oregon State on Friday, followed by Oregon on Sunday. Both games will be aired live on the Pac-12 Networks.
