David Rak joined the staff at the University of Washington in the summer of 2013. Rak will be assisting with Baseball, and responsible for Men’s & Women’s Golf, Cross Country, and the Throwers.
He came from Boston University where he was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach, and was responsible for Wrestling and Women’s Golf. He also assisted with Men’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer and worked directly with Men’s Freshman Crew, Men’s Varsity Crew, Women’s Varsity Rowing, and Women’s Novice Rowing.
Between his 2 years at BU, Rak interned with the football team at the University of South Carolina in the summer of 2012. He also interned with Eric Cressey where he worked with baseball players at all competitive levels and developed an in-depth understanding of the shoulder and how it relates to strength and conditioning. Prior to his internship with Eric Cressey, David started his career as an intern at Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning and joined the staff while he earned his undergraduate degree.
Rak is a native of Boston, MA and has earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and has earned his Master’s Degree in Coaching from Boston University. He holds certifications through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS).
Dave enjoys competing in powerlifting in his spare time.
