SEATTLE – Washington guard Jazmine Davis was named to the 50-player watch list for the 2013-14 Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T. Davis joins five other players from Pac-12 who are being considered for an award given to the top player in women’s college basketball.

Davis, who was also named to the Wooden Award watch list, is off to a hot start for the Huskies so far this season. The junior is averaging 19.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. She had a season-opening 23 points at Saint Mary’s, before a well-rounded of 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds in the Dawgs win over Seattle U.

Davis is coming off a sophomore season where she was second in the Pac-12 in scoring at 19.3 points per game. The San Jose, Calif., native is Washington’s all-time leading scorer through two seasons with 1,113 points. She became the second-fastest Husky to 1,000 points, needing just one more game than UW legend Jamie Redd.

Davis joins Brittany Boyd and Gennifer Brandon of California, Cassie Harberts of USC, Michelle Plouffe of Utah and Chiney Ogwumike of Stanford from the Pac-12 on the Naismith List.

The Dawgs are in the midst of a long break between games, before heading out on a difficult road trip to Houston and Texas A&M. The Dawgs face Houston on December 4, at 5 p.m., before taking on Texas A&M on December 7, also at 5 p.m.
