CORVALLIS, Ore. – Washington memorable season now includes a trophy. The Dawgs won the Pac-12 title on Sunday, defeating Oregon State, 1-0, to clinch their first conference title since 2000. Freshman forward Mason Robertson had the game winner for a third consecutive match.

In the 57th minute, Robertson banged in a one-timer from in front of goal on a cross by Michael Gallagher. The goal came after a scoreless first half that had the Dawgs wondering if the goal was going to come.

The goal was the fifth of the season for Robertson who also had game-winners last week against Stanford and a golden goal versus Cal. He is the reigning Pac-12 and NSCAA Player of the Week.

The Dawgs finish the regular season with a record of 14-1-4, including 7-1-2 in the Pac-12. Washington is two points clear of UCLA for the conference title.

The Huskies dominated play for much of Sunday’s contest, outshooting Oregon State, 26-10. The Dawgs also had 14 corners to just one for the Beavers as the ball seemed to be in the Husky offensive end for most of the game.

The two sides played a scoreless first half with Washington playing into the wind, limiting their offensive chances. After the break, the Dawgs played with the wind, dominating possession and having a number of chances on goal.

Following Robertson’s game-winner, Darwin Jones, Cristian Roldan and a slew of Huskies had opportunities in front of net, but the Dawgs settled for the lone goal.

In goal, Ryan Herman earned his seventh shutout, making five saves.

Washington earned the Pac-12’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament and will just wait to see how high of a seed they will receive. The Dawgs came into the week with an RPI of No. 2, trailing only UCLA. However, with the Huskies earning the conference title, it could be enough for Washington earn to overall No. 1 seed.

Either way, the Dawgs will surely receive a first-round bye and home field advantage all the way to the Final Four. Washington will learn its fate on Monday morning at 9 a.m. with the NCAA Selection Show that will be aired live on
