2016-17 Basketball Season Ticket Renewal

A member of the Director of Athletics’ executive team, Shondell Reed oversees UW’s six-member compliance staff, as well as the department’s strength and conditioning, equipment, and athletic training staffs. Additionally, Reed serves as sport administrator for nine varsity programs – men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s cross country/track, men’s and women’s rowing and women’s basketball.

On campus, he is athletics’ liaison to the offices of admissions, student-life, the Attorney General, and the University Of Washington Police Department.

Actively engaged in intercollegiate athletics governance and policymaking at the conference level and nationally, Reed currently serves on the Pac-12 Rules Working group and the NCAA Cross Country and Track & Field Committee.  

Reed arrived at Washington after spending the previous eight years as an administrator at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. While at Colgate, he served as sport administrator to the soccer program that was the first Patriot League women’s team to advance beyond the first round of the NCAA tournament. As Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Reed administered budgets for all 23 varsity programs, club sports, and recreational sports. In addition, he served as liaison to the University’s advancement office. Reed also oversaw all internal departmental units and worked closely with both the offices of admissions and financial aid, working to develop policies for admitting student-athletes and administering athletic scholarships. In the spring 2010 semester, he served as Acting Director of Athletics.

On campus, he participated as a member of the Staff Affirmative Oversight Committee, Faculty Affairs Committee, and the Executive Committee of the Diversity Council. Reed was also engaged off-campus as part of the Patriot League Sport Management Committee and sportsmanship committees.  At the national level, he served on the NCAA Initial Eligibility Waivers Committee and the Division I Recruiting and Athletics Personnel Issues Cabinet.

Prior completed stops at Cal, and The Ohio State University prior to his tenure at Colgate.

A native of Harbor City, California, Reed received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Cal State Fullerton. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law and Master of Arts degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
