Egger and Hawke Advance to Semis at ITA Regionals

The pair won a tightly contested match to move on to the semifinals

MORAGA, Calif. – The University of Washington doubles team of Emmett Egger and Jeff Hawke knocked off top-seeded Bernardo Saraviva and Nils Skajaa of San Francisco, 8-7 (5) to advance to the semifinals at the ITA Northwest Regionals on Monday.

Egger and Hawke, seeded ninth, will now face UC-Davis’ Adam Levie and Alec Adamson on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The tournament is serving as a qualifier for the ITA Indoor Nationals held in November.

In singles action, senior Max Manthou upset third-seeded John Lamble of Santa Clara, 2-6; 7-6 (4); 7-5 in the quarterfinals before falling to second-seeded Campbell Johnson (California), 6-4; 6-0 in the semifinals.
