SEATTLE -- Washington defender Taylor Peay added to his weekly honors, being named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Peay was also named Pac-12 Player of the Week after scoring against both Stanford and Cal.

Friday, Peay scored in the 78th minute to give Washington a 2-1 lead. Darwin Jones swung in a corner kick and Peay got his head to it for what proved to be the game-winning goal. Washington would go on to win 3-1 and earn a big in-conference road win.

Sunday, Peay scored a crucial equalizer in the 85th minute to tie the score at 1-1. Again, the goal came off a corner kick with James Moberg's cross finding the head of Peay for his sixth goal of the season.

Peay has already scored six goals this season and racked up a NSCAA National Player of the Week, two Pac-12 Player of the Weeks and various other awards such as the College Soccer News award.

He is leading the Washington defense that has allowed just six goals this season and is still unbeaten at 8-0-3. The Husky senior is quickly establishing himself as one of the top All-America candidates at defense.

The Dawgs are off this weekend, but resume play on Monday night at 7 p.m. when Oregon State comes to the Husky Soccer Stadium.
