Jennifer Cohen was promoted in May, 2008 to oversee the department's development efforts as the senior associate athletic director for development.

Cohen, who previously served as the department's associate athletic director for major gifts since December, 2005, oversees the department's fundraising efforts for various initiatives such as capital projects, planning giving and scholarships. She also oversees the athletic department's annual fundraising efforts through the Tyee Club, the Big 'W" Club and special events.

A native of Tacoma, Cohen has served the University of Washington's development efforts for the past 10 years. She joined the athletic department staff in 1998 as an assistant director of development before moving to the university's central development office to focus on fundraising efforts on behalf of the office of undergraduate education. She also spent time with the UW's regional gifts program before returning to athletics three years ago to oversee the department's major gifts program.

During her time at UW, Cohen has been involved with fundraising campaigns for the "Campaign For The Student-Athlete," which provided for a number of significant initiatives that included the renovation of Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion and the Conibear Shellhouse, the construction of the Dempsey Indoor Practice Facility, the Husky Legends Center, Husky Golf Center and various scholarship endowments.

Recently, she has been a driving force behind a major effort to maximize the university's "Students First" matching scholarship program, which has earned more than $15 million for the department's endowment for athletics scholarships.

A 1991 graduate of San Diego State University, Cohen earned her master's degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration, from Pacific Lutheran University in 1994. Her professional experience includes a variety of roles in intercollegiate athletics administration at Pacific Lutheran, the University of Puget Sound and Texas Tech University. She and her husband, Bill, were married in 1996 and are the parents of two sons, Tyson and Dylan.
