MISSION STATEMENT

Student-Athlete Academic Services fosters independent learners who take ownership of their education and become vested contributors to the campus, the community and the world.

 

LEADERS IN THE FIELD

The University of Washington developed the first-ever student-athlete academic service program in 1970 under the leadership of Gertrude Peoples. Every other program in the country was developed after that time and has used the University‘s program as a model. Learn More

 

UNMATCHED COMMITMENT

The University of Washington‘s Student-Athlete Academic Services employs 14 staff members and 85 tutors. The SAAS staff serves in four specific areas: academic advising, academic coordinating, learning needs and tutorial services. Learn More

WATERFRONT LOCATION

The Ackerley Academic Center resides on the waterfront in Conibear Shellhouse. It is in the middle of all practice facilities and competition areas proving to be an ideal location for student-athletes. Learn More
