Washington Washington at Portland
May 14 | Joe Etzel Field | UP Baseball

THIS WEEK: The Huskies head into the final two weeks of the season four road games in the Northwest. Tuesday, the Dawgs travel south down Interstate 5 for a 3:00 p.m. game at Portland.

The Huskies will give junior righty Dae Yang Kim his first start vs. the Pilots while UP will counter with righthander Jackson Lockwood.

This weekend, the Huskies head to the Tri-Cities for a three-game, Pac-12 series vs. Washington State. The series will be played at GESA Stadium, home to the Northwest League's Tri-City Dust Devils, in Pasco, Wash.

Fans can follow live stats of and watch live video (both provided by the Pilots) via the links on this page.

HISTORY WITH THE PILOTS: Until SeattleU resurrected its program, Portland was the UW's closest Division I, non-conference opponent. And of course, the Pilots were members of the Pac-10 Northern Division through the 1994 season, so the two teams have a lot of history. The Huskies lead the all-time series 94-47-1. Earlier this year in Seattle, in a game that had already been pushed back a week due to weather, the Pilots beat the Huskies, 6-4, in a game shortened to six innings due to rain. Last season, the Huskies won two out of three, losing in Seattle in the first meeting before winning at Portland again back in Seattle.

NEXT UP: As noted, the Huskies travel to Pasco this weekend for a three-game series vs. Washington State. The UW then closes out the regular season with a home series vs. Arizona State May 24-26.

HUSKY BALLPARK CONSTRUCTION: Immediately following the conclusion of the 2013 UW baseball season, construction is scheduled to begin on the new grandstand at Husky Ballpark, which will be completed in time for the 2014 season. The new stadium will include seating for 2,200, a new team performance center, new scoreboard and field turn, new press box and a full compliment of public restrooms and concessions. For more on the new facility, check out

HOME GAMES ON VIDEO: Washington fans can watch live video broadcast of all Husky HOME games this season (other than those games that will air on Pac-12 Networks television). There is no cost for this service and you can find the links via the UW baseball schedule page, or on future game and series previews like this one.

GAME PREVIEWS: has done away with the old, traditional "weekly notes" for many sports this academic year, so for the coming baseball season, this will be the manner in which each week's games will be previewed. The hope is that, with all of the links provided (particularly to the team's roster and bios, which will be regularly updated throughout the season, including updated career statistics), that fans will have much more information at their fingertips via this page than they ever had via old-style notes. If you have any thoughts on other links or information that might be included, please click on the "feedback" link at the very bottom of this page and let us know.
