OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - No. 11 Washington's season ended with a 6-2 loss to No. 1 Oklahoma on Sunday night at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium at the WCWS. Washington tied for third, its best finish since winning the 2009 National Championship. Oklahoma will play Tennessee in the best-of-three championship series beginning Monday at 5:30 p.m. PT.

Washington posted a 45-17 record on the year and had the best finish out of all of the Pac-12 schools going 2-2 at the WCWS with wins over Nebraska and Michigan.

Seniors Shawna Wright (Lancaster, Calif.), Jerrin Fa'asua (Oceanside, Calif.) and Lindsay Monk (Menifee, Calif.) played in their final games as Huskies. Wright and Fa'asua each started in the game. Fa'asua had a hit and Wright drew two walks.

Both of Washington's runs were in the fifth in to get within two, 4-2. Sophomore Kylee Lahners (Laguna Hills, Calif.) hit a solo home run to center field to lead off the fifth to get the UW on the board. It was her 10th home run of the year.

Wright walked and Mercedes Wetmore (Lake Tapps, Wash.) pinch ran. After a Fa'asua single up the middle, the tying run was at the plate for Kelli Suguro (Kent, Wash.). Suguro reached on a fielder's choice and an error allowed Wetmore to score the second Husky run.

Oklahoma got three runs in the third as Brianna Turang tripled to left and scored on a wild pitch. Lauren Chamberlain and Keilani Ricketts each hit solo home runs in the inning as well.

Turang scored again in the fourth on a bloop single to shallow left center by Georgia Casey.

The Sooners added one run in the sixth and another in the seventh.

Junior Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) pitched the complete game. She finished at 23-9 on the year and allowed five earned runs on eight hits and struck out six.
