Junior Programs

Nordstrom Tennis Center offers junior lesson programs for children ages 6 to 13 year old. In general, placement in these classes is based on age and experience level as outlined below.

Level 1: Beginner or minimal experience

Level 2: Some playing experience - with family, camps, a few lessons, etc. Can judge and move to the ball and keep a rally going for a few shots.

Level 3: Able to keep a rally going, working on control and power, gaining confidence in serving and volleys.

Level 4: Has taken lesson for at least 2 years, has competitive experience in match play, tournaments, on a team. Can serve, volley and rally consistently. Working on power, variety and spin.

Evening classes are 2 nights per week plus match play on 3 Friday evenings during each session. There are two sessions during fall quarter.

Sunday classes are once per week (no class during tennis matches). Saturday classes are not offered in the fall due to Husky football games.

The following junior classes will be offered fall quarter. Registration for fall quarter begins August 10th for returning students, and August 17th for new students. Tuition can be paid via check or credit card and is due on the first day of class. (Students can be added through September on a space available basis and tuition will be pro-rated).

SATURDAY CLASSES:  Due to Husky football and tennis events, Saturday classes will not be offered in the fall. Sunday programming has been expanded and Saturday classes will resume in the winter.

Sunday: 2:15-3:15pm: 10-13 year old advanced beginners/intermediates. (Level 2). $242 (JW)

Sunday: 3:15-4:15pm: 8-11 year old advanced beginners/intermediates (Level 2). $242 (AN)

Sunday: 4:15-5:15pm: 10-13 year old advanced beginners/intermediates. (Level 2/3). $242 (AN)

 

SATURDAY DEVELOPMENT CLINICS (Champs and Challenger level players ages 10-13)

Staff and former players from the University of Washington will hosting developmental clinics for tournament level players age 8-13. For more information call 206-543-8185

NTC is not permitted to provide any programs/lessons/instruction of any kind to high school students due to NCAA regulations.
