May 18, 1999

SEATTLE, Wash. - Seven Washington rowers were named to the Pac-10 Rowing All-Conference Team, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced.

Sabina Telenska (stroke), Katy Dunnet (7-seat), Tiffani Sumner (5-seat) and Rachel Dunnet (4-seat) were named to the all-conference team following Washingtons eighth consecutive varsity eight gold medal at the Pac-10 Championships. In addition to the varsity victory, the Huskies won grand finals in the junior varsity and novice eights and the varsity four. It marked the sixth time in Pac-10 history and the first time since 1992 that Washington had swept the competition.

On the men's side, coxswain Sean Mulligan, Whit Hammond (stroke) and Dave Calder (6-seat) earned all-conference honors. The varsity eight finished second to California in its grand final. The Husky varsity four won its race for a fifth consecutive year while the junior varsity and freshman eights also finished second, behind California.
