Washington: Was granted a sixth year of eligibility during 2002 spring drills, having missing two seasons due to cysts on his knees. 2001: Was an impact receiver, making catches at key moments … just two years removed from surgery to repair cysts on his knees, set or equaled career-highs for games played (10), receptions (15), receiving yards (291) and touchdowns (2) … reception total ranked fourth on the team … led all Husky receivers with a 19.4 yards-per-catch average … scored first-career touchdown on 75-yard bomb against Arizona … catch equaled the 12th-longest in Husky football history … made another crucial catch, for 27 yards, to set up Cody Pickett’s winning touchdown rush in final minute of come-from-behind win against the Wildcats … finished with career-best 102 yards receiving against Arizona, earning the coaches’ award as offensive MVP … scored again three weeks later at Oregon State, on a seven-yard pass from quarterback Taylor Barton. 2000: Saw first playing time since 1997, having been inactive the past two seasons as a result of surgery to remove cysts on his knee ... appeared in eight games, mostly as a reserve to Todd Elstrom at flanker ... one of seven players to record a catch in 2000 that did not have a reception in 1999 ... finished the season with three catches for 28 yards ... equaled that total in the Huskies’ 34-24 Rose Bowl win, making three receptions for 30 yards ... against Cal, made first catch since the 1997 season ... added two more receptions against Arizona, including a key first-down catch to set up game-winning touchdown in the final minutes. 1999: Did not play while continuing rehab from knee surgery. 1998: Redshirted the season due to knee surgery. 1997: One of 10 true freshmen to play for UW; one of six to letter ... played in every game except for Oregon ... had four receptions totaling 46 yards ... long reception was a 27-yard catch vs. Oregon.
