Former Washington quarterback Tarn Sublett rejoins the Husky program this season as a graduate assistant coach, a position he most recently held at Cal in 1992 and 1993. While at Cal, Sublett worked with the Cal defense under head coach Keith Gilbertson, now the Huskies' offensive coordinator. In 1993, Gilbertson and Sublett helped lead Cal to 9-4 record and a 31-3 victory over Iowa in the Alamo Bowl. Prior to joining the Cal staff, Sublett was the offensive coordinator at Seattle's Cleveland High School in 1991.
A 1988 graduate of UW's School of Business, Sublett served primarily as a quarterback on the Huskies' scout team and junior varsity squads. After arriving in Seattle as a walk-on, Sublett earned a scholarship and his first letter in 1987, backing up current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Chris Chandler. In his four years at Washington, the Huskies never missed a bowl game, attending the Orange, Freedom, Sun, and Independence Bowls from 1984-87.
In 1994, Sublett earned his MBA from Cal's Haas School of Business. He and his wife Kelly have a son, Ryan (9), and a daughter, Sierra (4).
