Husky Rowing Summary

1999 (Freshman): Rowed in the three in the varsity four that won the NCAA Championship in Sacramento ... rowed in the six seat in the novice eight boat during the regular season ... won a Pac-10 Championship, Windermere Cup title and San Diego Crew Classic grand final ... invited to the ARCO Olympic Training Center Freshman Camp, summer '99.

Personal: Daughter of Laurie and Michael Nykreim ... has one younger sister, Ellie ... interests include skiing, snowboarding, drumming, art ... member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

I chose Washington because: Husky tradition runs in my blood.
The best thing about Seattle is: The wave, and friendly, active people.
The best thing about UW is: Being able to go home on the weekends.
Favorite class: Astronomy.
My best race was: 1999 NCAA Championships, of course!
After I graduate I plan to: Be on Road Rules.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Try to have as much of a fun, 'normal' college life as you can; make the most of your experience here!

Nykreim says: "I had no idea how hard Washington rowing was or why it was worth it, until now."
