I chose Washington because: It was an excellent school, close to home, with mountains nearby and great rowing.
The best thing about Seattle is: The mountains and the Sound on sunny days.
The best thing about UW is: Rowing
Favorite class: Art History and Zoology
My best race was: Against Wisconsin in 1998, we came from behind in a sprint.
After I graduate I plan to: Go to graduate school.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Love every moment of it because it passes by so quickly.

Nygren-Birkholz says: "Washington rowing means working as a team, never setting limits and always being dedicated to racing."
