Husky Rowing Experience

1997 (Freshman): Rowed in four seat in novice boat that won Pac-10s ... also won Windermere Cup ... 1998 (Sophomore): Rowed in the two seat in the JV boat that posted an undefeated season and helped lead UW to a second straight NCAA title.

1999 (Junior): Rowed in the JV boat, in the two seat for a second straight year ... helped Huskies win a third straight Pac-10 title ... captured San Diego title for the eighth year in a row ... at NCAAs, finished fourth in the grand final and helped UW to a third place team finish ... spent summer at Development Camp and rowed at the Canadian Henley.

Personal: Daughter of Mark and Vicki Horton ... has a sister, Ryanne, and a brother, Ben ... enjoys listening to music ... interested in a career in landscape architecture.
The best thing about Seattle is: The coffee.
The best thing about UW is: The science and research classes.
Favorite class: Biology 203.
My best race was: Against Wisconsin in Seattle last year, our JV beat the Wisconsin varsity in the last 500 meters of the race.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Be ready to get wet.

Horton says: "Washington Crew is the greatest learning experience I've had in my life. It has taught me that I can set my goals high and then accomplish them by not only working hard, but efficiently. There's a continuous learning curve. I never stop gaining skills I can apply elsewhere in my life."
