Husky Rowing Experience: 2000 (Freshman): Rowed two seat in freshman eight that won a silver medal at IRA Championships ... rowed four seat at Pac-10 Championships when freshmen finished second, and for wins on Opening Day, against Cal in dual regatta and for gold medal performance at San Diego Crew Classic.

Personal: Son of Jean Liston ... has one younger brother, Robert, a freshman at Washington State.

I chose Washington because: It's a great school and it was close to home.

The best thing about Seattle is: The outdoors, surrounded by all the mountains

The best thing about UW is: The variety every day.

Favorite class: Engineering 100

My best race was: The Cal dual last year at Redwood Shores. We were down a half-length off the start and walked through them on their home course.

After I graduate, I plan to: Have a family and a successful career.

If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Washington is the greatest place to row. Enjoy your time here.

Liston says: "You only get out what you put in."
