2001 (Sophomore) -- The Huskies’ starter in right field in 48 of 52 games ... one hit and one home run short of the team leader in each of those categories ... honorable mention All-Pac-10 ... had his average over .360 for much of the latter part of the season and ended with a .337 mark ... had a mid-season stretch in which he hit safely in 17 of 18 games, batting .421 (32-for-76) with 22 RBI during that run ... continued to hit well vs. Washington State, going 9-for-21 (.429) in five games to give him a career batting average of .528 (19-for-36) with 15 RBI in nine career games vs. WSU ... top game of the year was perhaps a 4-for-5 outing at WSU April 27 ... scored twice, drove in one, doubled, walked and threw out a base-runner in that game ... April 28 at WSU, belted a three-run homer in the eighth to put Washington in front, 8-5 ... two games later, went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, a double and a homer at Gonzaga ... followed that with a 3-for-5 outing the following game vs. Oregon State, scoring twice, driving in three and belting a double and a triple ... also had three-RBI games at UC Riverside (March 3), vs. USC (March 19) and vs. Puget Sound (March 28) ... two-run double was key hit in a five-run, seventh-inning rally vs. USC ... UW won that game, 7-6, in 10 innings ... was a Cape Cod League all-star over the summer, playing for the Orleans Cardinals ... won Orleans’ Moore Award for outstanding performance on and off the field… 2000 (Freshman) -- Didn’t work his way into the lineup until mid-season, but then took off on a phenomenal freshman campaign … second on the team with a .345 batting average and third with nine doubles … compiled 36 RBI in only 36 games played and 17 of 38 hits were for extra bases … named honorable mention freshman All-America by Collegiate Baseball … also earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 … started 30 of the Huskies’ 56 games, including 28 of the last 30 … had a stretch in the latter part of the season in which he batted 21-for-42 (.500) with 18 RBI over 12 games … came off the bench to go 1-for-2 with a three-run homer vs. Oregon State on March 5 for his first career hit … had a pinch-hit RBI single the following game at Portland … 1-for-3 with an RBI triple in second career start, March 29 vs. Portland … broke into the lineup for real on April 5, when he went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a home run and two RBI at Washington State … drove in the winning run in the Huskies’ big come-from-behind win at Wichita State … singled home Jay Garthwaite with the UW’s third of seven runs in the ninth inning of a 15-10 win … 3-for-5 with two runs, a steal and a double in the second win at Wichita State … 3-for-5 with four RBI and a double April 29 at Oregon State … 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI in Washington’s 17-6 win over Washington State … hit .667 (10-for-15) with two homers and eight RBI in four games against Washington State … batted .417 (5-for-12) with eight RBI in four games vs. Oregon State … had four doubles in three games at Arizona State … played in four games during the Huskies’ trip to Cuba, batting .500 (.6-for-12) with six runs, six RBI, three walks and a home run.

Earned three letters as an outfielder and first baseman for coach Ron Martin at Meadowdale, the alma mater of former UW All-Americans Randy Jorgensen and Brett Merrick ... All-WesCo as a junior and senior ... all-state as a senior, when he was also a team captain ... played in the district championships his first two seasons and finished eighth in state as a senior ... hit .400 as a sophomore, .419 as a junior and .385 with 11 home runs as a senior … a three-year letterman in basketball, serving as captain as a senior ... second-team All-WesCo in basketball as a senior ... graduated with a 3.3 GPA.
