2001 (Sophomore) -- Began the year as a starter, starting five games before moving to the bullpen, where he made 11 relief outings … no decision on the season’s opening day despite a solid outing … allowed two runs on four hits and no walks while fanning five in six innings vs. BYU… also failed to get a decision in a six and two-thirds innings start at UC Riverside … gave up four runs in an 8-5 UW win … threw well in a loss to Mark Prior and USC, allowing four runs over six and one-third in a 5-1 loss to the national player of the year … earned a save with 1.2 innings of work at WSU April 28 … got a second save with two shutout innings vs. Oregon State on May 6 … led Pueblo (Colo.) to the NBC World Series during the summer … 2000 (Freshman) -- Made 13 appearances, all in relief, during his first season at Washington … posted two victories, against Wichita State and Gonzaga … didn’t get a decision, but had a brilliant outing at Washington State when the UW came from 5-0 down in the first to win, 8-7 … in that game, worked five and two-thirds innings, allowing only two hits and one earned run … threw two no-hit, no-run innings for his victory against Wichita in the game the UW scored seven in the ninth to win 15-10 … worked four relief innings for the win over Gonzaga on May 16, allowing one run on four hits while fanning three, a season-high … also fanned three over two innings vs. USF on April 18.
