Scott Robertson, a former walkon who finished his career ranked No. 6 in Washington baseball history with 10 career saves, joins the coaching staff this season after completing his four year playing career last season.
Robertson, who made 50 career appearances as a relief pitcher from the 2000 through 2003 seasons, will aid head coach Ken Knutson in coaching the pitching staff while he completes his bachelor's degree in sociology/law, society and social policy.
As a Husky reliever, Robertson enjoyed his best season as a sophomore in 2001, when he went 3-0 with seven saves over 20 appearances. His seven saves that year ranked him second in the Pac-10 that season and were sixth-most in Husky history at the time.
A 1999 graduate of Mercer Island (Wash.) High School, Robertson was a three-time All-KingCo Conference selection during his prep career, when he teamed with UW classmate Sean White. He helped the Islanders to a KingCo title his junior year, when he went 10-1, before posting a 9-3 record as a senior.
Robertson also earned first-team All-KingCo honors for the M.I. football team.
