The sophomore pitcher helped UW to a series win over WSU.

ARCHBISHOP MITTY HIGH SCHOOL: Played three varsity seasons under coach Bill Hutton ... captain as a senior ... the West Catholic Athletic League Pitcher of the Year as a junior and senior ... 9-2 with a 1.06 ERA as a senior ... struck out 106 and walked only 17 in 86 innings ... also batted .306 as the Monarchs won the league title ... as a senior, earned Louisville Slugger All-America, first-team all-state, first-team All-NorCal, first-team All-WCAL and team MVP ... also the Santa Clara Hot Stove High School Pitcher of the Year ... as a junior, led the Monarchs to a 31-3 overall record and a CIF Section championship, beating rival Bellarmine Prep, 12-0, in the title game ... went 11-0 with a 2.87 ERA as a junior, striking out 82 in 78 innings ... earned first-team All-WCAL and Maxpreps Junior All-America in 2010 ... also made the Northern California All-Star team as a junior ... as a sophomore in 2009, earned honorable mention all-league, going 5-2 on the mound while batting .375 ... as a freshman, went 8-0 for a 21-0 freshman squad ... played on an under-14 USA National Team that traveled to Guatemala in 2007 ... graduated with a 3.5 grade point average.
