UW's Kyle Woods Earns Pac-10 Weekly Honor
Husky earns Pac-10 Northern Division Baseball Player of the Week.

Washington outfielder Kyle Woods has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Northern Division Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. The Pac-10 North Pitcher of the Week award went to Oregon State's Chris Pine.

Woods, a sophomore from Marysville, Wash., collected two hits in each of the Huskies' four games last weekend at the San Diego Baseball Classic. For the week, he batted .533 with seven runs, four RBI, four doubles, a triple, a home run and a stolen base.

Woods has hit safely in all seven games this season, getting two hits in six of the seven. For the season, he is batting .500 (14-for-28) with team highs in doubles (4), RBI (11) and slugging (.929).

Washington opens the home season Friday against Gonzaga at 1:00 p.m. The game will mark the first ever at the new Husky Ballpark.
