All-American earns Pac-10 Conference honors.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - All-American Jeff Heaverlo has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week, commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Heaverlo, a junior from Ephrata, Wash., earned the victory in the Huskies' 3-2 win over No. 2 Stanford last Friday. The right-hander worked seven innings, allowing six hits, two runs and four walks while fanning 10 batters. He improved his won-lost record to 6-1.
Heaverlo will start in Wednesday's non-Pac-10 game at Oregon State, when he will have a shot at breaking the UW's all-time strikeouts record. He enters the game with 250 career Ks, only nine short of Jake Kringen's school record of 259, set between 1995-97.
This season, Heaverlo, who was named the No. 4 college prospect in the nation in the latest issue of Baseball America, is 6-1 with a 2.83 earned run average and 78 strikeouts in 63.2 innings.
