Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Ivan Lewis joined the Washington staff shortly after the arrival of head football coach Steve Sarkisian. Lewis enters his fourth season with the Huskies in 2012.

In his role, Lewis and his staff work directly with the UW football team throughout the year, overseeing the team's strength and condition programs both in and out of season.

Lewis came to the UW from USC, where he served as a strength and conditioning coach under Chris Carlisle, working primarily with the Trojans' quarterbacks and linebackers. During his three seasons, he helped USC to three Pac-10 championships.

Prior to his time at USC, Lewis was on the strength staff with the San Diego Chargers for two years. With the Chargers, he worked under head coach Marty Schottenheimer, as well as strength coaches Dave Redding and Matt Schiotz.

Lewis came to the Chargers from the University of San Diego, where he worked with the football team and various other sports.

Lewis was an assistant football coach, as well as strength and conditioning coach at Mt. Si High School in North Bend, Wash., in 2000 and 2001.

Lewis graduated from the University of Idaho in 2000, and earned a master's degree from the University of San Diego in 2003.
