2012: Played in 52 and started 50 of the Huskies' 55 games during freshman season ... started 30 games at designated hitter and 20 at first base ... opened the year on fire in the three-game series at San Diego State ... went 4-for-4 opening day at SDSU ... the following day, was 2-for-6 with a homer, two runs and two RBI vs. the Aztecs ... wrapped up first college series going 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI on Feb. 19 at San Diego State ... 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs batted in Feb. 27 at Northridge ... 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI March 3 (game two) vs. Saint Joseph's ... 2-for-4 in back-to-back games vs. Cal Poly (March 11) and Portland (March 13) ... hit a two-run homer in Washington's April 6 win over Stanford ... 2-for-3 April 21 vs. Arizona and then 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double the next day vs. the Wildcats ... in that April 22 game, drove in the game-winning run with a single in the 12th inning ... 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in win April 24 at Portland ... 2-for-5 with an RBI in each of the first two victories at USC May 4-5 ... 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBI May 20 at Arizona State ... had the big hit in the Huskies' 5-2 win over Washington State on May 25, hitting a two-run double to break a 2-2 tie in the seventh ... hit safely in all three games vs. the Cougars ... played for the Mat-Su Miners over the summer, earning a spot in the Alaska League all-star game.
RANCHO BERNARDO HIGH SCHOOL: Played four seasons on the varsity under coach Sam Blalock ... captained the team as a senior ... first-team All-California as a senior, and was also San Diego Section Player of the Year, All-CIF San Diego Section and All-North County ... hit .432 with 10 homers and 46 runs batted in as a senior ... won the section title as a junior and senior ... in 2011, cruised to the title with shutouts in three of four playoff games and a 9-1 victory in the other ... ranked eighth in the nation as a junior and 12th as a senior ... hit .448 with seven home runs and 44 RBI as a junior.
