Torre Becton
Position: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Torre Becton joined the Washington staff in the summer of 2011 where he assists with strength training and conditioning for the University of Washington Football and Men's Tennis teams.

Prior to his arrival to the UW Torre served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for South Carolina State University. From 2009-2010 Torre was an assistant strength coach for the Houston Texans of the NFL and from 2007-2009 as an assistant for Iowa State University. In 2003-2006 Becton assisted with the implementation of speed, strength, agility, and conditioning for Baylor University's speed, strength, and explosive training department. Torre assisted the strength and conditioning program for the Baylor football team, and oversaw the design and implementation of track and field, and volleyball squad's yearly training programs.

At Baylor, coach Becton worked with 2004 Olympic 400- meter gold medalist Jeremy Wariner and Darold Williamson, who joined Wariner on winning Olympic 4x400-meter relay in Athens. During his Baylor tenure Becton designed strength training and conditioning programs that helped Baylor men's tennis advance to the NCAA Final Four every year and win the NCAA National Championship in 2004.

Torre started his career as a graduate assistant for Oklahoma State University where he worked with football and track and field.

Becton is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). He is a Certified Sports Performance Coach through the United States Weightlifting (USAW), a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) a member of the National Association of Speed and Explosion and Black Coaches and Administrators (BCA).

Torre is a 2000 graduate of North Carolina A&T State with his degree in health and physical education and fitness management, was a four year letterman in football and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity INC.
