SEATTLE - Six of the University of Washington's 13 football opponents in 2007 are ranked in the initial USA Today Top 25 coaches' poll released today.
The Huskies open the season on Friday, Aug. 31 at Syracuse (ESPN, 5 p.m.) before playing four-straight games against teams ranked in the to-25. On consecutive weeks, UW plays 23rd-ranked Boise State (Sept. 8), 10th-ranked Ohio State (Sept. 15), at 17th-ranked UCLA (Sept. 22) and top-ranked USC (Sept. 29). Three of those four games are at Husky Stadium.
Washington also plays 12th-ranked Cal and 24th-ranked Hawai'i near the end of the season.
"There is no question that (the schedule) will be very challenging," said Washington head coach Tyrone Willingham. "But, it is an opportunity for us to go out and prove ourselves. The old cliché is true that to be the best, you have to play the best. We are excited to go out the season and do exactly that."
Season tickets, four-game mini plans and single game tickets are all on sale through the Husky Ticket Office. Since single-game tickets were made available for sale on Monday, the UW ticket office has sold just more than 16,000 tickets for the seven home games.
Tickets are available by calling 206/543-2220 or by clicking here.
