Washington Head Coach Lorenzo Romar
"Playing against this version of the Trojan team is tough. They are tough defensively. Whenever they get the ball in any transition situation, I feel like I am in the Army wondering where the helicopters are coming from. They come from everywhere, they have so many weapons when they are in transition. When you go out and turn the ball over 18 times, like we did, and you shoot 37 percent, like we did, and you still win - that is something I am very proud of in our guys. Granted, we were 32 of 40 from the line. If we don't make our fouls, the outcome probably is different. But we did. Our guys did a tremendous job of stepping up to the line and putting the ball in the basket and we were able to come out with a victory. Our guys really completed and battled. It was great to win this - to make Brandon's (Roy) day complete - and, to make our day complete. The crowd was the best it has been all year. Today, the crowd was sensational and that really helped us."
Washington Sophomore Matthew Bryan-Amaning
"It was a real tough game for the whole 40 minutes. We just ran our sets. Coach said it was going to be a long game. We just kept running our stuff and slowly they would break down. You could see all the way to the end that they just stayed with what they were doing and we stayed with what we were doing and we were able to come out with a win."
Washington Freshman Isaiah Thomas
"I the same thing (as Matthew). This might be the most physical team we will play. It came down to who wanted it more and who was tougher. We, obviously, were tougher (tonight) and wanted it more than they did. I had to be patient (tonight). They ran that triangle-and-two then they went to a box-and-one (defense). Whenever they are in a junk defense like that you have to be patient. Coach just kept telling me to be patient and the shots will come. I just did that and my teammates did a great job of finding me."
USC Coach Tim Floyd
"We played a good team. If you would have told me going into the game that we were going to make eight more field goals than they were, and shoot 47 percent, and they were going to shoot 37 percent, I would tell you we were going to win."
"We fouled too much to win on the road."
"They have a fine team. We just gave up too many free throws."
"(USC didn't do) Nothing really different (on Brockman). He's a good player. That's always an incentive for every team (to stop him). He had 14 rebounds. That's what good players do. If they don't get them scoring they'll go back and get them in different ways."
