GoHuskies.com: How does it feel to make such a large contribution in such a big game?
Sonny Shackelford: It feels great. I was able to help the team as best as I could, win the game and come up with a victory.
GoHuskies.com: How was the mood at halftime?
Sonny Shackelford: The mood was different. Obviously we weren't happy with the situation, so we wanted to make it better. We got together, got our heads straight, and tried to come out in the second half really strong. We came out on the first drive, put some more points on the board. Our defense got some good stops, and we were able to score some points in the second half.
GoHuskies.com: What did Coach Willingham say to the team to get you motivated?
Sonny Shackelford: He was just telling us that we weren't playing Husky football. We weren't doing things that we needed to do to win the game. Obviously, as a player, you don't want to hear that; we just wanted to go out there and make it better. So we came out in the second half and got our act together.
GoHuskies.com: You're from the Los Angeles area, how does it feel playing against the Bruins?
Sonny Shackelford: It feels good! I go home all the time, and I see the guys when I go back - and now I have bragging rights. I'm looking forward to going back home and talking about it.
GoHuskies.com: How are you feeling about Arizona?
Sonny Shackelford: I'm feeling good about Arizona. You know we have a strong two weeks back to back, so we're trying to go on the road and get some road wins. We're going to try our best to win at Arizona.
GoHuskies.com: The crowd was rocking at Husky Stadium this weekend. Did you guys feel it? Did you feel the momentum, and the crowd getting into the game?
Sonny Shackelford: It was good and it felt good. It always feels good to be in the fourth quarter, and still have the crowd in the stands, going crazy, helping the team out. I still saw some empty seats, I guess school hasn't started or something, but I think those seats are going to get filled up pretty fast.
GoHuskies.com: So how's the team feeling after the win?
Sonny Shackelford: We're feeling real good. But you know, we've got to put the win behind us, and look forward to Arizona this weekend.
