Seattle - Husky Sports Properties and the Washington Athletic Department are proud to welcome NewsTalk 860 KPAM in Portland, Oregon and Southwest Washington and KZTU 660 in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon to the Husky Sports Radio Network. The network now consists of 25 affiliate stations across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and Nevada. "We are very pleased with the addition of NewsTalk 860 KPAM to the Husky Radio Network," said Todd Turner, Director of Athletics for the University of Washington. "Strong affiliate stations in the state of Oregon are significant for branding, marketing and recruiting efforts. We're excited our fans in that region will have the ability to listen to Husky athletics thanks to the efforts of KPAM and KZTU." With the addition of NewsTalk KPAM 860 and KZTU 660, the Husky Sports Radio Network now expands to not only the greater Portland, Oregon market, but to its surrounding areas as well, including Astoria, Salem, Corvallis, Eugene, and Roseburg, just to name a few. "It makes a strong statement to our fans to deliver the Husky radio broadcast not only within Washington State, but to greater areas of our surrounding states as well," Turner said. In addition, with the success of Husky basketball, fans in Portland will now have the opportunity to listen to the men's basketball broadcasts on the Pamplin Broadcasting sister station, 1550 KKAD in Portland/Vancouver. "We're excited to see the partnership with Pamplin Broadcasting expand to include one of the top stations in the Portland market." Turner says. NewsTalk 860 KPAM is a recent recipient of The Associated Press Broadcasters of Oregon's Awards for Overall Excellence and Best Newscast. Highly regarded play-by-play broadcaster, Bob Rondeau, returns for his 26th year on the broadcast crew. All-American place kicker Chuck Nelson, who provides color commentary, and Elise Woodward, on sideline reports, will join Rondeau. Husky Sports Properties is a division of Action Sports Media, which continues to be a leader in collegiate sports marketing. ASM, a Paul Allen company, consists of a network of 16 universities nationwide. Action Sports Media is headquartered in Portland.
