The Washington baseball team earned its first national ranking of the 2008 season today as Collegiate Baseball installed the Huskies as its No. 30-ranked team in today's poll.

Over the weekend, the Huskies (28-16 overall, 8-7 in the Pac-10 Conference) jumped from eighth to sole possession of third place in the league standings thanks to a three-game sweep at USC.

This week, the Huskies play a non-conference game Tuesday at Portland before Washington State visits Husky Ballpark for a three-game series this weekend.

In other news, the Huskies have made a change to their upcoming non-conference schedule. The Lewis-Clark State game originally scheduled for May 13 will be played instead on May 20, still at 5:00 p.m. That game will also air live on KKNW AM-1150. Depending on circumstances that will be resolved this weekend, the Huskies could add a game on May 13. If that game is added, it will be announced most likely on Sunday.
